Ben Scissorhands Booking Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all bookings and services provided by Ben Scissorhands ("we," "us," "our"). By making a booking or receiving a service from us, you agree to these terms.

1. About us

Ben Scissorhands (Aus) Pty Ltd (ABN 90 618 375 241), trading as Ben Scissorhands, operates barbershops across Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

2. Bookings and payment

Appointments can be made online, by phone, or in person. Full payment for the booked service is required at the time of booking, and your appointment is only confirmed once payment has been received.

After booking, you will receive a confirmation by email and/or SMS. The SMS includes a link you can use to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Please check your booking details and let us know straight away if anything is wrong.

3. Cancellations and rescheduling

We do not provide refunds for cancellations. If you cannot attend your appointment, please reschedule to another available time instead. You can reschedule using the link in your confirmation SMS, by calling us on +61 422 864 077, or by contacting us by email.

More than 24 hours' notice You are welcome to reschedule your appointment to another available time at no additional cost. Your original payment will be applied to your new booking.

Less than 24 hours' notice Please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We will do our best to move your appointment to another available time. Rescheduling within this window is offered at our discretion and will depend on our availability and whether your original slot can be filled.

No-shows If you do not attend your appointment and have not contacted us, your payment is forfeited in full. This reflects the genuine loss we incur when a booked slot cannot be rebooked at short notice.

4. Running late

If you are running behind, please contact the barbershop as soon as possible. We are happy to move your appointment to a later time that day or another available slot where we can, and you are also welcome to use the link in your confirmation SMS to reschedule yourself.

We will hold your appointment for up to 10 minutes past the booked time. If you have not arrived or been in touch by then, we may need to shorten your service to fit the remaining time, or treat the booking as missed. In either case, the full booking fee applies.

5. Refunds

We do not offer refunds for cancellations or change of mind, except where required under Australian Consumer Law. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please reschedule in line with section 3.

This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a remedy, which may include a refund, re-service, or other compensation, where a service fails to meet the consumer guarantees set out in that law, including that services will be provided with due care and skill and within a reasonable time. Any concerns about the standard of a service we have provided should be raised with us directly using the contact details in section 1.

6. Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for at least 3 years from the date of issue, as required under Australian law. Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Any unused balance remains on the voucher until expiry. Vouchers can only be redeemed in-store at Ben Scissorhands locations.

7. Pricing

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Our current prices are displayed in-store and on our website. Prices may change without notice; the price confirmed at the time of booking is the price that applies to you.

8. Health and safety

Please let your barber know before your appointment if you have any skin conditions, allergies, recent injuries, or infectious conditions (including lice or similar) so we can provide a safe service. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service where we reasonably believe it may pose a health or safety risk to you, our staff, or other clients.

9. Right to refuse service

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service to anyone behaving abusively, aggressively, or disrespectfully towards our staff or other clients, or who appears significantly affected by alcohol or drugs. In these circumstances, the full service fee remains payable.

10. Personal belongings

Please keep your personal items with you at all times. Ben Scissorhands is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings left on our premises, except where our liability cannot be excluded under Australian law.

11. Photos and social media

From time to time, we may photograph our work for our social media and website. We will always ask before taking or posting a photo that identifies you, and you are free to say no without any effect on your service.

12. Privacy

We collect and handle personal information (such as your name, contact details, and booking history) in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of Queensland.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website, and the version in effect at the time of your booking is the one that applies to you.
